Darwin L. Pace, age 70, of Council Bluffs, passed away February 4, 2019 at River City Nursing and Rehabilitation in Omaha. Darwin was born on August 22, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Earl D. and Helen L. (Baldwin) Pace. He graduated from Indianola, Iowa High School in 1966 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army (security agency) during the Vietnam War (1968-1972). Darwin was a tenured electronics professor at Metro Community College for 15 years, retiring in 2015. Prior to Metro, Darwin worked for Gateway Electronics for 10 years He was a member of Unity Church of Omaha. In addition to his parents, Darwin was preceded in death by his infant brother, David Lee Pace; niece, Michelle Pace and nephew, Brian Pace. Darwin is survived by his son, Nathaniel H. (Stephanie) Pace of Bellevue, Nebraska; daughter, Natalie L. (Matthew) Sherping of Council Bluffs; brothers, Edwin L. (Christine) Pace of Indianola, Iowa, Leland R. (Barbara) Pace of San Antonio, Texas; dear friends, Angela and David Bickley of Council Bluffs; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.
