ahontas County Board of Supervisors. He was very active in the Presbyterian Church in Pocahontas where he served as an elder, church treasurer, sang in the choir and served on various committees for the Prospect Hill Presbytery the last of which was the Committee on Ministry. He was a charter member of the Pocahontas Community Chorus and also a charter member of the Pocahontas Kiwanis club and served as Lt. Governor for this district for one year. He was a member of the American Legion having served in the Army Air Corp for a short time in WWII. Chuck is survived by two children, Dennis (Rhonda) of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, Diane Johnson (Mark) of Emmetsburg, Iowa, two grandchildren Carrie N. Larson (Ryan), Farmington, Minnesota and Joel A. Johnson (Jessica), LeMars, Iowa and four great grandchildren, Logan Larson, Perrin Larson, Samuel Johnson and Cory Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife , Irene (Bell) Mayo, parents, Oral and Goldie (Mace) Mayo, two sisters, Edna Norton (Donald) , Betty Jean Randall, and his brother Maurice (Ruth) Mayo.
