first and foremost family. She was committed to caring for and to looking after each of her children. She experienced their experiences with a watchful eye; she was resolute in helping them realize happiness and the completion of their life ambitions and of their dreams. When she was blessed with two granddaughters she did the same for them as only a grandmother can do. And then a decade ago the flow of life began anew with another generation. A generation she was only beginning to leave her mark upon. A Memorial service to celebrate Frede's life will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church, 3829 Grand Ave, Des Moines on Saturday January 26. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. The Service will begin at 11:00 AM., Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association. Death comes for each of us; Emily Dickinson in her poetic lines captures this final moment gently and poetically. "Because I could not stop for Death - / He kindly stopped for me - / The Carriage held but just Ourselves - / And Immortality." Sad though the moment is, the Carriage came for Frede yesterday; let her Immortality be our loving memories of her.
