Donald H. Fritzler, 89, of Port Charlotte, Florida, devoted father, and grandfather passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Tidewell Hospice House.
The son of the late Henry Fritzler and the late Marie (Eichman) Fritzler. He was born June 18, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Viola (nee Wuckert- Shaner) on August 23, 1963. She predeceased him. He served in the US Army 1951-1953. He worked at Saginaw Steering Gear in skilled trades until his retirement in 1981. At that time, he and Viola "Jean" moved to Florida and he opened Fritzler's Woodshop and retired in 2009.
He is survived by his four children Donald R. (Jeanne) Fritzler, Gayle (Rick) Backiel, Nancy (Gary) Helwer, Timothy (Kathy) Shaner, 10 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by four sisters and one brother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home. Family will be present to receive those wishing to give their condolences one hour prior to time of service.
