was to know how strong, brave, loving, caring and courageous he was. To his parents he was their strength, the sunshine to their days, their hero but first and foremost, he was their Little Boy. Caleb was selfless and hated seeing his parents sad when he was sick, he was stubborn and held on until they all fell asleep.
Caleb is survived by his parents, Holly (Aaron) Kempf of What Cheer, John (Kylee) Hammond Jr. of Oskaloosa; his siblings Carly Hammond, Kaiden Hammond and Evee Kempf; maternal grandmother Kathy Meeker; great grandmother Evelyn Kauffman; paternal grandparents John (Tammy) Hammond of Ottumwa; Paula Cooksey of Ottumwa; great-grandparents Glen and Jackie Cooksey of Beacon; Judy Cooksey of Marysville, California; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, the staff he loved so much at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, especially nurses Molly and Stephanie and his beloved Yorkie Pee Wee.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Wesley Meeker, grandmother Donna Kempf, great grandfather and great grandmother Charles and Angie Hammond and great grandfather Frederick Kauffman.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 10:30 am in the Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa with Reverend Jay Allison officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin Friday September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gateway Church of the Nazarene and the family will be present at the Gateway Church of the Nazarene from 4:00 to 8:00 to greet friends and relatives. The family asks you to please wear Green Bay Packers or Racing attire for the visitation and service. Memorials may be made to the family.
