Victor Zaragoza (75) of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 6th, 2018.
He was raised in Ft. Lupton and attended Ft. Lupton High School. He was a champion wrestler and athlete.
He enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War era and spoke proudly of his service.
His passion for psychology and education eventually led him to pursue a doctorate degree from UNC in Educational Psychology with which he graduated in 1987. His heart for social justice helped him use his education to care for those around him including neighbors, and the students he counseled.
He spent the majority of his career as a counselor in the Aurora Public School system at Gateway High School and Rangeview High School. After his retirement from the Aurora Public School system his love for education and counseling urged him on to the Denver Public School system where he pursued to help more kids in under-privileged schools as they sought a higher education.

her Ambrose and his wife Phyillis as well as his nephew Rick. He loved classic cars and enjoyed putting work into his Corvette and his son's Mustang. He was never one to shy away from a political debate and enjoyed discussing the topic with others. He loved his family fiercely, always thinking of them and putting their needs first. He poured much of his heart into his son ensuring that he'd grow up successful in all aspects of his life.
Victor will be greatly missed by his son Fletcher (Sarah) Zaragoza; his brothers, Julio Zaragoza and Ambrose (Phyllis) Zaragoza; and his sisters, Phyllis Ramirez and Delfie Zaragoza; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by his father Cruz Zaragoza and mother Angelina (Betancourt) Zaragoza; and brothers John Zaragoza, José Zaragoza, and Eulalio Zaragoza.
