providing care for others and volunteering countless hours at local nursing homes. He was a member of the American Legion and the Silver Spring VFW.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Grace (Lewis) Stevens, his sisters, Dorothy Couts, Isabel McCabe, Phyllis Jean Morgan, his brothers, Roy Stevens, James Stevens, and Jerry Stevens, along with a niece, Sharon Stevens and a nephew Dennis Couts.
Robert is survived by his nieces Carolyn Johnson, LeAnn Stevens, Debbie Stevens, Maureen Raynor, Teresa Lyman, Michele Brashear, Kathleen Brunner, Barbara Bowman, Patricia Stevens, and Anne Garman; as well as his nephews, Thomas McCabe, Michael McCabe, Patrick McCabe, Paul Stevens, Rick Stevens, John Stevens, Dan Stevens and James Morgan. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marjorie Stevens and brother-in-law James Morgan.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Robert Goodrich officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Graveside military honors will be given by members of the Oskaloosa American Legion and V.F.W. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at 11. Memorials may be made to the American Legion or to a charity of the donors choosing.
