Born May 11, 1921 in Abilene, TX; passed away August 15, 2018 in Shoreline WA at age 97. Her greatest passion was gardening, and her roses she won several gardening awards. Working in her Garden until her early 90's.
She was a Campfire and Bluebird Leader for 10 years, eventually winning Leader of the year for her dedication and hard work. A foster Mother who also volunteered with developmentally disabled children in the 60's.
Family and close friends received her fruitcake, made from scratch every Christmas until she was 93, and it was delicious! She didn't dare forget anyone or her phone would be ringing with requests. She ate black eyed peas every New Years Day until her early 90s for good luck. Her life was filled with struggle and hard work but she found joy every day.
Survived by a daughter, Colette McLennan and a son, Corey McLennan.
