ewman Grove High School the spring she was 16. Over the summer, she took classes at Midland College in order to start teaching in September. She was still 16! Her first - and last teaching job was in Fort Calhoun, where she taught grades K-8 in a one room school house. As well as teaching, she was to keep the school clean, and start a fire in the wood stove first thing in the morning during the cold months to keep the school nice and warm during the day. It wasn't long before Carol met Richard Kurtz at the Music Box in Omaha. They were married in Newman Grove in February 1951. In June 1954 Steven Richard was born and in May 1958 Susan Carol completed the family. They loved vacationing and traveling, from Disneyland to Washington D.C. and also took many trips and spent vacations with Carol's sister, Doris, and her family. After Carol and Dick divorced in 1972 Carol worked as a church secretary at St. Timothy's Church in Omaha and at as a secretary for District 66 Schools in Omaha. While working at District 66, a handsome Omaha Police Sergeant named Bob Sieborg came into her office one day. That meeting turned into romance, and Bob and Carol were married on April 1981. Bob and Carol still loved to travel and then spent a lot of time traveling to Wyoming and Colorado. Carol's grandson Michael, and Bob's daughter Susan, accompanied them on some of the vacations. They took a lot of photos and had a lot of fun. Bob had served in Morocco, Africa, post WWII, and was very active in a group of Moroccan veterans who kept in touch and held reunions throughout the US. Bob and Carol attended many reunions through the years and Bob was even President one year, so Carol planned on keeping the wives busy having fun while the men swapped war stories. They did a lot of traveling on their own also, visiting England and Europe twice after they both retired. Carol was a true Anglophile and loved to keep an eye on the Monarchy, she had so much fun! Through the years the children married and 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren joined the family, along with many granddogs and grandcats. Carol loved her family and thrived on spending time with all of them. She never missed an opportunity to take someone shopping at Kohl's and then having lunch at Village Inn. She loved us the way we love her, unconditionally. We will dearly miss having her in our lives. SERVICES 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 6 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
