Cmdr. Edward W. Endzel Sr., age 81, of Greenwood, IN passed Monday, June 18 after a brief illness at Community South Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Ed was born in Washington D.C. and lived around the world while serving in the US Navy, before settling down in Greenwood, IN for the past 30 years. Ed graduated HS from Jamestown Public School. in High Point, NC in 1953. He then went on to graduate from Western Carolina University with a BS in Business Administration in 1959.
After University, Ed started his career in the US Navy where he spent 25 years and retired as a Commander in March 1985. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia Pulasky Endzel; father, Charles Endzel Sr.; sister, Dorothy Thren, and brother, Charles Endzel Jr. Ed is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mavis Endzel; daughter, Brittany Endzel of Chicago, IL; two sons, Edward W. Endzel Jr. and Greg Endzel of Albuquerque, NM; stepson, Dean Stoute of Bedford, IN; and two step daughters Lori Chalfin and Kelly Angel of Greenwood, IN; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
