ll time. Dee returned to work for the Mason City School System in the cafeteria before working for Sears for fifteen years until her retirement in 1991.
Dee married Delos Cook on August 24, 1996, and Dee's family gained two more children, Becky Chiafos and Terry Cook.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, she volunteered for the church, labeling newsletters and she was a member of the VFW Auxillary. Dee loved to crotchet afghans for her family, do embroidery and any other crafts she could get her hands on. She enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona. Family time was very important to Dee, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.
Dee is survived by her husband, Delos "Jim" Cook, of Kensett; her daughters, Vickie (Mark) Hukill, of Kensett, and Julie (fiancé William Taschereau) Welsh, Benton Harbor, MI; her step-daughter, Becky Chiafos, Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Joshua, Derrick, Nichole, Cory, Miranda, Tommy, Hannah, and Haley; seventeen great-grandchildren; her brothers, Randy (Delaine) Hoeft, of Forest City, and Mark (Sue) Hoeft, of Forest City; her sister-in-law, Margie Hoeft, of Leland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Welsh, her parents, Harold and Izora (Schultz) Hoeft, her brothers, Dennis and Jim Hoeft, sister, Beverly Mayland, her step-son, Terry Cook, her brother-in-law, Lewis Mayland, sister-in-law, Bonnie Hoeft, her niece Wanda Helman, and an infant sister Shirley May.
