any hours crocheting blankets for every grand and great-grandchild. She enjoyed playing bingo and calling it, and she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Iola liked traveling, and she and Lewis would beautify roads by picking up cans to help pay for trips. One of her other favorite pastimes was going to dances. She will be remembered for her line: "I can't dance, but I sure can intermission." On May 10, 2018, Iola passed away at Wesley Acres in Des Moines, Iowa. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Kathleen Baltisberger of Ankeny, Iowa and Marilyn Banwart (Mike) of Emmetsburg, Iowa; her son, Bruce Rasmussen (Julia) of Unionville, Missouri; brother, Kenneth Selander of Fort Dodge; two sisters: Clarice Lundberg of Dayton, Iowa and Marvel Peters of Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Richard Rasmussen and Lewis Block; two sons: Richard P. Rasmussen and Ronald R. Rasmussen; great-granddaughter, Brenna G. Sullivan and her son-in-law, Jack Baltisberger.
