Karl Giessler, age 82, passed away April 26, 2018 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born to the late Edward and Lydia Giessler on July 13, 1935 in Romania. Karl married his wife, Heidi, in 1957, and they emigrated from Germany to The United States in 1959. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Liberty Home Association and Edelweiss Sports Club. Under Karl's leadership as Chairman of the Hamilton Oktoberfest for many years it has grown into the festival it is today. Karl retired from Mosler Safe Company after 30 years of service and later worked for several years at Tri County Mall. He is survived by his wife, Heidi; sisters Lori, Irma, Rosa; nephews Rick (Kathy) Demmel, Ralph (Joni) Demmel; great nephews Tyler (Margaret) Demmel, Ross Demmel, John Paul Demmel; great niece Emily Demmel; great great-nieces Vivian and Violet Demmel, along with numerous nieces and nephews in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Erik Polh. A visitation will be held at Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 11am-12pm with a funeral service to follow at 12pm; officiating will be Pastor Joe Schrock.
