Jeanne Beverly Sprague, 90, of Polk City, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. A private family burial will take place in the Polk City Cemetery at a later date.
Jeanne was born in Des Moines, Iowa on January, 27, 1928 to Orville and Iowa (Graber) Mack. She attended and graduated from Ankeny High School in 1944. Following school she married James Sprague on January 15, 1945. The couple moved to a farm outside of Polk City where they raised their family. Jeanne worked as a braillist for the Commission of the Blind in Des Moines for many years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, CFA Cat Club showing Scottish fold cats, and volunteered for over 20 years at the Planned Parenthood book sale. Jeanne enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, taking care of the yard, and tending their livestock.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter JoAnn (Jerry) Clark of Polk City, IA; daughter-in-law Linda Sprague; grandchildren Steven (Sue) Sprague, and Diane (Craig) Swope; great-grandchildren Austin, Brandon, and Joshua.
