James Malchow, 62, passed away at home in Shoreline, Washington on November 22, 2017.
James was born June 14, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Richard and Fay Malchow. In 1973 James graduated from Eastmont High School and joined the US Navy, where he spent 6 years in the Submarine Corps. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Portland State University, and a Professional Engineering License. Over the last 30 years he worked for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and NOAA at Sandpoint. He enjoyed both the teamwork and the technical challenges of his career. James also loved hiking and camping. He spent much of his free time with his family, and shared his appreciation of nature with them.
James is survived by his beloved wife Jamie, their children William and Kathryn, two sisters Melissa and Gretchen, and two brothers David and John. [more]
