where, in 1953, he married the only woman that would put up with him, Nancy Wenger. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, in 2003, before the sweetest, nicest, most devoted, loving wife and mother passed away. They raised their five children in the unique Mid-Century Modern home built on one of the first lots in Hollywood Hills. Don enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and breeding and racing thoroughbreds. He and his family traveled extensively and he could always be found videotaping and narrating their experiences in the many states, countries, and continents they visited. Don is survived by his three daughters; Donna (Don) Hulmes Silver, Lori (Michael) Hulmes, Beverly Hulmes, and grandson, Alex Jeffrey Silver who brought him great joy and was his favorite hockey goalie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seth and Lois Hulmes, his devoted wife, Nancy, his son, Jeffrey, his daughter, Gail, his brother, Van, and his sister, Janet. Visitation will be from 12-2:00 PM with the funeral service at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St. in Hollywood. Interment will follow at Holllywood Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Rites by the U.S. Navy. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Donald W.
