Thomas W. "Tom" Mason, 90, of Cedar Falls, died at home, on Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Tom was born on May 25, 1927 in Waterloo, son of Earl W. & Elizabeth (Grupp) Mason.
He attended Tripoli High School and then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Tom married Clara M. Vierow on October 11, 1947, in Cedar Falls. She died February 19, 2011.
He worked as a boiler operator for Cedar Falls Utilities for 26 years until retiring in 1989.
Tom was member of St. John American Lutheran Church, American Legion, and Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #39.
Survived by two daughters, Marilyn Betts of Waterloo and Rhonda (Kenneth) Schrage of Waverly; three grandchildren, Robert (Kelly) Lewis, Bobbie Weekley, and Andrew Prugh; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Main and Carole (James) Rubendall both of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Ashley Prugh; a brother, Raymond Mason; and a sister, Mary Wallace.
Tom loved to fish and often refurbished fishing poles. He enjoyed quilting and camping and spent 11 winters in Texas His children and grandchildren were everything to him.
