Lucille "Lu" Jasper, long time resident of the Wallingford area, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 at Aegis Callahan House.
She was born in Pueblo, Colorado November 27, 1918. While in Colorado, she met and married her husband Peter. They moved to Seattle in 1956 with their children Peter, Kathy and Patty. They had three more children, Danny, Terry and Noel.
Lu was a mother and wife first and foremost, and a friend to many in the neighborhood. She worked at the Wallingford United Methodist Child Care Center for 25 years as the cook. Toward the end, she fed the children of the children she first cooked for.
Lu loved good food and dancing, enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends. She always had an extra chair and plate at the dinner table for the unexpected guest.
She is survived by Peter P. Jasper, Jr., his wife Leslie Zetterstrom, and son Lee; Patty Wood, her husband Bruce Wood; Dan Jasper, his wife Michelle, and his children Dylan, Elliot, Philip, and Mariah; Terry Jasper, her husband Rod Brooks, and daughter Vivian; Noel Jasper, and daughter Julia. She is also survived by Katherine's daughter Jessie Dunn Stewart.
