Max J. Sharp passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017, peacefully in his Hampton home. He leaves behind a wife Evelyn of 54 years; daughters Debbie (Tom), Carlen (Doug), and Linda; sons Dale (Audrey), Gary (Sandy) and Mike; daughters-in-law Deloris and Mary. He also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Clara and John, his twelve siblings, and sons Richard and Clark.
Max was born April 9, 1938 to Clara and John Sharp as the youngest of thirteen children in Nevada, Iowa. As a young man, he worked with the railroad which was only the beginning to his long list of occupations. Some of these included working as a demolition expert and driving truck. After joining Local 234 as an operation engineer, he traveled working the Alaska Pipeline and various building trade projects throughout the Midwest as a crane operator. He and Evelyn married June 15, 1963. They built a life together for fifty-four years in Hampton, Iowa.
